To Our Current and Future Boarding Clients:

This letter is to ensure that you are up to date with our new boarding policies by bringing your attention to a few small changes that will be coming this year. First of all, thank you all for entrusting us to care for your furred family members. We take great pride in taking care of them and will do everything we can to ensure that their stay with us is enjoyable.

With all of your pets that are staying with us it is important that we protect your pet, as well as all of the other pets staying with us, from different types of diseases. This means that we require vaccines as well as fecal exams to check for intestinal parasites. The following dog vaccines are required to stay at our facility: Distemper Combination, Rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough), Leptospirosis and Canine Influenza. Cats require the upper respiratory combination (FVRCP) as well as a rabies vaccination. These vaccines help your pet to have an immunity against transmittable diseases, as well as keep you and our staff safe from diseases that are transmittable to humans. Some of these vaccines require a booster series if your pet has never received them. Please call the office to have specific questions about your pet answered.

Along with updating the vaccines it is necessary to make sure that they are at full effect when your pet arrives for their stay. Vaccines need to be given at least 2 weeks prior to boarding to allow the immune system time to reach a protective immunity level. If it is the first vaccine in a series, they need to have the initial dose at least 4 weeks prior and the booster at least 1 week prior to their stay. We realize that this can be difficult to plan ahead of their stay, but it will maximize your pets protection. Please plan your boarding stay accordingly and we would request that you make your reservations at least a month in advance to prevent any conflicts.

Lastly, the cost of boarding has increased significantly over the last few years. The cost of food, cleaning products, toys, staffing and maintenance have steadily increased, but we have resisted increasing the cost to you. In order to keep serving you at the level you are accustomed, the pricing for boarding will be going up starting April 30th 2018. Our new prices will be $31.15 per dog per day for our indoor kennels and $35.63 per dog per day for our indoor/outdoor kennels. Cat boarding will now be $26.20 per cat per day. We hope that the advanced notice allows you time to plan for the new prices.

Thank you again for allowing us to care for your pets and we look forward to continuing our relationship with all of you. Please feel free to call (970) 351-0936 with any questions.

Sincerely,

Sheep Draw Veterinary Hospital
